Hi ladies
Its wonderful to be able to join you all here – and thanks so much for the PartyPlanTogether idea (brilliant!).
I have been using Twitter for quite some time now and has found it has generated lots of leads – 'tho I have to admit that at the moment I'm not using it for marketing/PR purposes at all because (a) I'm rewriting both my websites from scratch and (b) busy running 2-hour workshops for small businesses to introduce them to the power of Twitter!

Now up to 490 – hoping to make 500 this week! Have to say it is great to chat to other people working from home and get lots of useful contacts – you never know when they might come in handy!

Hi,
First you need to find people you are interested in following so it may be other party planners etc… If you put Party plan or TishTashToys into the search it will give you a list of people. You can then click on the ones you want to follow. Generally once you are following someone they will follow you back. Hope that makes sense.

I search for allsorts of terms depending on what I'm twittering about, for example:
'Taunton' or 'Somerset' – as was there doing a market stall on Sat
'Pampered Chef' or 'Chocolates for Chocaholics' – as looking for reps for an event I'm organising
'Events' – as always looking to link up with people running events
Get the idea!

Ohhhh Rob, where's your Twitter page gone?!!!
I have to say that I really missed not being able to tweet much this past week – even worse, I was without internet at the weekend (shock horror) so its been fun to tweet while working this afternoon!
I have just converted a dear friend to Twitter who swears blind that social marketing/networking is a criminal waste of time and for those "that have too much time on their hands" – still, I'm always up for a challenge!!! I can see exactly HOW social networking/marketing can work for her so will have to keep gently working away on her …
I finally also finished writing my second Twitter e-guide a couple of weeks back – that was about 5 months of research, some of it quite painful … the trick to Twitter is to use a desktop client (such as TweetDeck) and follow only those who you really enjoy following, I personally think.
BTW, if anyone grabs a Twitter eguide from Moonpoppy Enterprises over October, I am donating 50p per sale to my nominated charity, Afghan Heroes (a cause very close to my family's hearts) – in addition, I'm also running a small "open house" event at my home on 5th December, with a raffle … have already had some fabulous prizes donated by people I've connected with via Twitter over recent months.
I have also been busy checking out the Directory today, looking for ideas that could be used as fundraising for the event on 5th December … there's so many different types of party-plan out there, its amazing!
