Jobs After Redundancy
Posted by sharon - 19/02/10 at 11:02 amDirect selling is a great way to earn a good living and enjoy a flexible career, proving to be a preferable alternative for people who have been made redundant from their jobs. June Paterson (below) lost her job in financial services and started selling Miglio jewellery from home so that she could spend more time with her two children, according to the Mirror newspaper.
The UK newspaper suggested that following Ms Paterson’s lead and doing direct selling is a good idea, especially if money is tight, perhaps after redundancy. “Selling at parties or online is one way or you can distribute catalogues to friends, family and neighbours, place online orders, deliver the goods, then get paid commission for every item you sell,” the newspaper said. June has now set up her own website and is doing very well.
The Mirror advised checking out the Direct Selling Association, which has a membership list of established firms, such as cosmetics giant Avon. It is the world’s leading direct seller of beauty and related products, with Avon representatives working in over 100 countries.
